REAL Farms, REAL Families - NO Grocery Chains!
Meet the faces behind your food: Every purchase of locally raised beef nurtures family farms and ranches, preserving a legacy of sustainable agriculture for generations to come.
For 6 years our family lived very rural, we raised pastured poultry and grass- finished beef.
After we moved away from the ranch my desire to help farmers and ranchers continued to grow.
We struggled to find local consumers and began shipping beef across the US. It worked great for us until it didn't... (more on that later)
Our neighbor was hosting a small cattle conference at his ranch and invited me to attend.
We were all talking about the challenge of selling beef direct to consumer when a gentleman from Florida raised his hand.
"All I need to do to sell out of my beef is to hang a sign on my fence."
🐮 Helping Our Local Beef Farmers and Ranchers🤠
Reflections of Hard Work: As the day wraps up, our commitment to local, sustainable beef farming stands strong.
I saw everyone's shoulders sink feeling jealous of his farm's likely amazing location.
Then nods of approval as he revealed his farm is just down the road from a wealthy retirement community.
Nobody else in the room could relate...
Like many farms and ranches across the US the Fischer Ranch is not only in a small county (population 1,400), it also has one of the highest rates of poverty in the state.
How could they bring their beef to the big cities over 3 hours away and not get behind on all the other work at the ranch?
🤝 Quality Over Corporations: Choosing Community-Driven Beef . ✅
The Shortest Distance: From Ranch to Table, not Warehouse to Doorstep – our directory is where local quality trumps corporate convenience.
This really made me think about, just how many farmers and ranchers are out there struggling to find local customers like we were.
When I started growing our beef business the convenience of shipping was just too enticing.
While we continued serving local customers, our main focus shifted to national distribution.
We were not only competing with major corporations that bring in hundreds of millions shipping beef direct to consumers.
Our customers were choosing us over a farm local to them.

Voices of the Land: Connecting You to the Heartbeat of Local Beef Farming.
We had big dreams as we talked about in our interview with the Central Oregon tv show Taste This.
But after several shipping mishaps and thousands of dollars of spoiled meat, and poor marketing decisions by me.
We closed our beef business and began a new chapter here in Montana.
This chapter in not about our us, it's not about our growth, it's not about our ranch or farm or family.
This chapter is about helping every other farmer and rancher out there who has struggled to serve their local community.
📸 Shining a Spotlight on Local Farmers 👩🌾
Stock Up with Confidence: A freezer full of local beef means quality on your table and support for your neighboring farmers or ranchers. Let's fill our homes with the best your community has to offer.
To me, Locally Raised Beef is more than a local beef directory.
It's a movement, it's America saying NO to the commercial food system, big box stores and multinational corporations claiming to be "Family Farms" jumping on the direct to consumer beef wagon.
In this directory, you'll get to shake the hand of the farmer or rancher who raised your beef.
We know first hand the expense of raising cattle, so we do not take commissions from the listings, nor charge a fee to those farms listed on our directory.
